Sales Spotlight: Johnny Meyer

Johnny Meyer

Johnny is the Director of Client Services at Ametros, and has been with the company for about 4 years. He brings over a decade of experience working in business development, marketing, and customer service and obtained his B.A in Sports Management with a minor in Business Management from Salem State University.

He currently resides just outside of Boston, with his girlfriend and puppy. He’s passionate about volunteering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation & animal shelters, traveling, cooking, and sports- especially Boston sports.

What’s your favorite part of your role?

It’s different every day. It provides me with the opportunity to be creative and to try new things, meet some amazing people, and tackle new challenges. I also love the people I work with, and that my job gives me the chance to have a positive impact on people’s lives and make a difference every day.

In another life, what would you be?

I would be working for a nonprofit organization, or if that didn’t work out, most likely playing for the New England Patriots.

Who is someone that you look up to and admire?

I’m sure I will catch a lot of heat for this answer, but Tom Brady. How can you not admire someone that was drafted 199th overall by the Patriots, has won five Super Bowls, and is the GREATEST quarterback in NFL history?! The way in which he uses adversity and disappointment to fuel his commitment to being the best he can be, in the face of his apparent failures, he always perseveres. He is also a dedicated family man, and is heavily involved with the Best Buddies charity, and Make-A-Wish Foundation, what’s not to like about the guy?

To pass the time when you travel to a conference…

I am most likely prepping for that conference or managing my emails. If you don’t take care of your customers, someone else will, so I am always taking a proactive approach with our business partners and clients. But work aside, I would most likely be watching a comedy movie, listening to some Zac Brown Band, or planning my next vacation.

What sort of advice would you give colleagues in your industry?

Don’t present problems without solutions. When you present your boss with a problem, also come in with as much knowledge as possible and potential solutions.

Are you involved with any charities? If yes, which one(s) and why?

I have been involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for quite some time now. There is no greater feeling than the one you get knowing that you might have made a difference in someone’s life. Granting a child and family a wish allows them to enjoy time with one another and experience something other than the ongoing condition.

What’s your favorite state that you’ve visited?

My favorite state to visit is California, mainly because of San Diego. San Diego is basically heaven on earth, and if you’ve never been, stop reading this and book a trip ASAP. Perfect weather year-round, the beaches are some of the best in the country, and home to the best fish tacos in America. Enough said.

What are you most thankful for this year and what is your favorite dish to eat during Thanksgiving?

I am thankful for everything that I have. My family, my friends, my girlfriend and puppy, my health, my job, the Red Sox winning the World Series, Tom Brady, and much more! My favorite Thanksgiving dish is homemade ravioli and meatballs, and then wash it all down with some ricotta pie, followed by a few TUMS!

Fun Fact: I am a volunteer with Make-A-Wish Foundation and have helped grant over 10 wishes to children fighting against critical illnesses.

My motto is... "You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. - Wayne Gretzky" – Michael Scott
