The conference will be held in San Diego from October 9-11

San Diego, Calif. (October 5, 2018)Marques Torbert, the CEO of Ametros, will discuss millennials and workers’ compensation at The Comp Laude Awards & Gala, coming up October 9-11. Torbert is a bit of an expert on the topic being a millennial himself.

“Millennials have a thirst for knowledge, innovation and technology, and work comp has a lot to learn about incorporating these concepts,” Torbert said. “The industry needs to harness technologies like AI, digital communications and automation to improve our processes and find better solutions for injured workers.”

Torbert says there is a gap between what millennials want from their careers and what employers tend to prioritize and will offer advice for bridging this gap.  “Opportunities for career progression and personal development appeal to this generation,” he noted.  “Transparency and clear communication about what is going on within the organization are vital.  They want to understand the executives’ vision, so they can do their part to hit goals and move forward.”

Torbert will present during the People’s Choice portion of Comp Laude on Wednesday, October 10 starting at 10 a.m. In addition to highlighting the generation’s strengths, he will suggest ways to work with millennials. He will also highlight how the millennial generational shift will impact the industry as the landscape for injured workers and the workforce servicing them begins to reflect that generation.

Millennials want to feel like their work really matters, according to Torbert.  “Helping injured workers through a tumultuous time in their lives gives them a sense of purpose,” he said.

CompLaude will be held October 9-11 in San Diego, and more information can be found at https://www.workcompcentral.com/gala/registration.
